Web 2.0 and 3.0 Tools

    Web tools allow students to create and develop unique demonstrations of their knowledge. No cookie cutter projects here! Web tools often incorporate higher levels of Bloom's taxonomy and the SAMR model of technology integration. With these tools, students will be engaged as they apply their knowledge to an authentic audience.


Each month, AoP Tech will add two more teacher tested, kid approved web tools (and their app companions) to our site. Be sure to check back often for new tools, or utilized the links at the bottom of the page to seek out more fantastic tools! 

Popplet

      Love making concept maps and webs in the classroom, but ready to kick it up a notch? Popplet is a simple, yet robust mapping tool that allows creators to embed video, text, and images directly into their creations. Intuitive to use, and easy for any grade level, Popplet is a versatile tool for any classroom. 

Kahoot! 

    Engage students in a unique quiz game from any web enabled device. Perfect for the BYOD or mixed device classroom, teachers can create or play premade comprehension games. Students can retake quizzes to build toward mastery or even use the simple quiz maker to develop quizzes of their own!

Explain Everything

    Explain Everything allows teachers and students to easily create screencasting videos. For teachers, creating flipped videos can refresh your classroom content. Students can demonstrate their knowledge through unique video creation. Explain everything videos are easily shared to platforms such as YouTube, Evernote, Dropbox, or the Camera Roll of a tablet.

Tellagami

     Great for early readers and ELL students alike, Tellagami allows users to great a talking avatar. This iOS app walks students through creating a character and recording voice narration. It's great for breathing life into book summaries, informational text reports, and classroom introductions! 

Evernote

    "A place for everything and everything in it's place" is the perfect description for Evernote. This multifaceted tool allow teachers and students create virtual, collaborate notebooks that can incorporate digital pictures, voice, and video. Looking for a way to create digital portfolios? For schools who do not use GAFE, Evernote can be a great solution!

Padlet

    Formerly Wallwisher, Padlet creates a digital wall for students to share. Updated in real time, students can give individual responses that can be displayed on a whiteboard, or students can respond at home for an engaging, interactive assignment. Padlet can be utilized in a variety of ways: discussion board, bookmarking, collective brainstorming, or a fun bell ringer!
