All Kiker Learning Sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Please note that select sessions may focus more towards specific grade levels and are noted below. However, educators are welcome to register and attend any session(s) that would best meet their needs.

Act 48 Information
Three (3) hours of Act 48 credit are available for those that register and attend three or more Fall live sessions.

October 19th
Google Docs, Slides & Forms in the Math Classroom with Chris McCaffrey
This session will focus on incorporating Google tools in a student-centered math classroom. Participants will explore best practices in creating an 21st-century enhanced math classroom. Learn how to create equations more efficiently in different Google apps, and create hyperdocs to engage students in inquiry and project based learning.

Session 1 (Elementary/Middle School)
Visible Thinking Routines with Google Tools with Donna Teuber
Develop research and problem solving skills using visible thinking routines that guide students’ thought processes and encourage active participation in learning. We’ll explore a toolbox of thinking routines templates for organizing learning, exploring ideas, discovering new perspectives, and making thinking visible. Team up with your colleagues to design together!
Session 2 (Middle/High School)
Hyperdocs vs Digital Playlists with Shannon Nish
Hyperdocs and Digital playlists are ways to self-pace and personalize learning using a variety of links, videos, interactive edtech tools and more inside a Google Doc, Slide or Site! This session will highlight what digital playlists and hyperdocs are, as well as a variety of ways to implement them in your classroom to best create an engaging and personalized learning environment for your students. These playlists are great for any grade level or subject area and are definitely a system worth considering for any classroom.
November 9th
Understanding Our World with Google Earth, with Sara Bowers
Use Google Earth, My Maps, and Arts & Culture to increase engagement in all subjects. Learn about the experiences you and your students can create and share. No school bus or plane tickets required!

Inquiry in the ELA Classroom with Sara Bowers
Inquiry is not just for the Science classroom. This STEM practice can be utilized across the curriculum. In this workshop you will gain a better understanding of the inquiry process, differentiate between teacher-centered (guided) and student-centered (open) inquiry, experience inquiry from a learner's perspective, and gather implementation ideas to begin utilizing the inquiry process in ELA.

Engaging Students in Mathematical Discourse & Problem Solving with Chris McCaffrey
Join us to learn how to establish an environment where students regularly engage in productive mathematics discourse & problem solving. Learn strategies to facilitate student to content, student to student and student to teacher engagement with reasoning, & critical thinking skills in a student-centered math classroom.
December 7th
Digital Portfolios to Showcase Learning with Gene Carboni
Digital Portfolios are an excellent way for students to showcase their learning. Join us to learn how your students can use Google Sites to build a web presence they could be proud of. Students can share various types of digital media with their site’s visitors. We will explore how to add a Digital Image Album using Slides, published video demonstrations, writing samples, and much more.
