Feb 23 - Audio Activities with Mote
Mote is a free Chrome extension that lets you and your students record your voices and insert the audio into most all Google tools. In Docs this can be used to provide recorded directions, add personalized feedback, and practice fluency. In Slides this is the simplest way to embed audio in your presentations. In Forms you can use Mote to add audio to your questions, but also for students to record and submit their answers. Mote can also be used in Classroom, Gmail, and much more. Learn how you and your students can use this awesome extension to enhance teaching and learning with audio.
March 16 - Beyond the Slideshow
Google Slides is a great tool for making multimedia slideshows. but did you know it can also be used to make "Choose Your Own Adventure" style stories, interactive quizzes, online comic strips, storybooks, stop-motion animation, manipulatives, formative feedback in class, peer editing activities, and more? This session will explore these and more non-traditional uses of Slides. Learn how students can use Google Slides to express themselves in more ways than just a presentation.
April 6 - Google Tools for Art and Music
Art and Music are powerful mediums for student learning and expression, and technology can provide many ways to enrich and extend this experience. In this session we explore Googley tools for you and your students to create art and music as well as learn about these subjects. Music tools covered will include Chrome Music Lab, Groove Pizza, Mix Lab, AI Duet, Inside Music, Soundtrap, Flat, Screencastify, and more! Art tools will include Google Sheets to make Mondrian art and pixel art, Google Drawings for self-portraits and mosaics, Google's Arts and Culture site, and more!
May 11 - Google Tools for Math
Learn how Google tools can be used to teach and learn mathematics including Google Drawings (for symmetry, angles, polygons, pictographs, line plots, area, fractions, algebra and more), Google Forms and Sheets (for collecting and analyzing data), natural handwriting tools for math including Equatio and the Classroom app, and other apps and extensions.
May 25 - Teaching and Learning with Jamboard / Level 1 Certification Overview
Jamboard is a collaborative, digital whiteboard that makes it super easy for teaching content, brainstorming, annotating images, drag and drop activities, student check-ins, and more. Learn how to use all the features in Jamboard, create your own Jams, and access countless pre-made templates and activities online. Attendees will also get an overview of the Level 1 Google Certification program as well as tips to prepare for the certification exam.
